A total of 28 Meath athletes were awarded for winning All-Ireland medals during the year at the Meath Athletics awards night in the Ardboyne Hotel recently.
Over 250 people attended a great event and enjoyable night which was back for the first time since the 2019 awards.
Overall Meath athlete of the year was awarded to Andrew Coscoran.
The Star of the Sea athlete was honoured for his outstanding year competing in European and World Championships in 2022 and some outstanding runs over 800m, 1500m and the mile which included competing in the famous Wannamaker mile in New York.
Coscoran produced some great performances across Europe winning races and running fast times both indoor and outdoors during the 2022 season.
Anne Harrington presented the awards with chairman Michael Cornyn acting as MC on the night.
For the first time new Hall of Fame Awards were presented and there were three people inducted into the Hall of Fame - Lena Heffernan (Na Fianna AC), Michael Heery (St Brigid's AC) and Ciaran McDonagh (Fr Murphy AC)
There was also new awards to recognise Meath Master athletes who medalled at European and World level in 2022.
Mick Priest (Fr Murphy AC) and Aoife Parrella (Star of the Sea AC) were both European medallist, while Moira Groom (Trim AC) picked up European and World medals.
