Joyce shines in prestigious Harringay boxing competition

Davey Joyce from Navan claimed gold medal in the very prestigious Harringay Box Cup competition in London over the weekend.

The competition attracts boxers from all over the world and ensures that anyone who wins a competition has to do it the hard way.

Just over 300 boxers took part in the tournament boxing in a number of rings located in a large arena.

After a tough semi-final win Joyce took on an English champion in the final on Sunday where he gave an exhibition of class boxing to claim another gold medal for Holy Family Boxing Club Drogheda.

Also at the same competition Rickie Nesbitt claimed gold for the Holy Family club

Bettystown boxer Chris O'Reilly from Holy Family BC took part in two touch contests and came home with a silver medal.
