Baconstown GAA book to be launched
A group of seven local volunteers from the Baconstown area and surroundings came together about three years ago to examine the possibility of compiling a book to commemorate the small local football and hurling club that was in existence for nearly 40 years in Baconstown.
The club had great success in its time, noteably the winning of both the county Junior hurling and football titles in 1984.
The group formed a committee called the Baconstown GAA Memories book and after years years despite many setbacks and Covid in the middle, they have produced a book (Baconstown GAA Club 1960 - 1999) full of memories and stories from past members.
Baconstown GAA Memories Committee will have their book launch on Friday evening June 30th 2023 commencing with a Remembrance Mass for past club members in the Church of the Assumption, Jordanstown at 7pm
Followed by a reception in St.Patrick’s National School, Baconstown where the launch will take place.
Music will be provided by the Teresa Brayton C.C.E. Branch players, Enfield. The committee will donate of the proceeds of the raffle and sale of book to two very worthy causes -Meath Palliative Care and the Baconstown/Enfield First Responders.
All Welcome which should be a great community night for the Baconstown/Rathcore/Jordanstown Area.
