Renewed appeal for information on the cold case murder of Antoinette Smith
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information regarding the murder of Antoinette Smith who disappeared after a David Bowie concert in Slane 35 years ago.
The 27 year old Dublin mother of two went to the gig with her friend on 11th July in 1987.
After the concert, they returned to Dublin by bus, arriving in Parnell Square at around 11pm.
The pair then went to La Mirage nightclub where they met two men they knew and joined them until they all left just after 2am.
Ms Smith's friend parted ways with the group. Antoinette then walked towards the taxi rank on O’Connell Street with the two men.
Gardaí said the men got a taxi to the Ballymun area while Antoinette continued walking past the rank.
Ms Smith passed the Gresham Hotel on O’Connell Street and continued walking towards O’Connell Street Bridge.
Antoinette was subsequently reported missing by her husband and her remains were discovered nine months later on Glendoo Mountain on April 3, 1988.
