Huge crowd expected for Royal homecoming
The heroes of yesterday's Tailteann Cup success will be welcomed home on Monday evening as Meath GAA will host a celebration evening in Pairc Tailteann from 7.30pm.
After 13 years without a trophy of significance the Meath senior footballers produced a stunning second-half display to see off Down and lift the Tailteann Cup with a 2-13 to 0-14 victory.
Traditionally homecomings following Meath championship victories are held in the Fair Green in Navan, but the move to host the celebrations in Pairc Tailteann is a good call by the Co Board.
By hosting the homecoming in Pairc Tailteann more fans will get the opportunity to meet the players and get their photos taken with the handsome Tailteann Cup and the management.
Fans are encouraged to wear their green and gold to the celebrations.
To ensure everyone has a chance to attend the homecoming Meath GAA have announced that tomorrow evening's Minor Football fixtures have been postponed.
Tomorrow night's round six games will be played on Monday 31st July and semi-finals of Div 3 and 5 will be played on Monday 24th July.
