Kristina Troy seen here in action for Meath against Kilkenny in 2021 couldn't prevent Blackhall Gaels losing out to Kiltale this week. Troy ended up with four points.

Blackhall Gaels' party spoiled by Kiltale

Blackhall Gaels' return to the Senior A grade ended in disappointment on Tuesday evening when the visitors Kiltale spoiled the party as they pushed on to win, 2-12 to 0-10.

Blackhall Gaels will contest this year's championship without some of their familiar players but the Gaels will use this opportunity to blood and expose some of their younger players to the highest grade and build from there.

It took the homeside much of the first half to come to terms with their opponent's and found themselves trailing 0-7 to 0-2 at the break.

The Gaels fared much better in the second period scoring 8 points but unfortunately the slow start proved costly and the Gaels went down 2-12 to 0-10. The Gaels must dust themselves down as they take on Kilmessan in the next round this Saturday.
