A young Walterstown outfit experienced a tough night at the office on Monday evening when they came up against a strong Longwood in the second round of the Kepak Junior E Football Championship.

Both sides went in to this encounter with opening round victories under their proverbial belts with Longwood having accounted for Carnaross in the opening round, while the Blacks got the better of St Pat’s at home the first day out.

Despite the scoreline, Walterstown, under the guidance of Chris Foy and Kevin McKenna, battled extremely hard all over the field and their never-say-die attitude will certainly stand to them as they head towards their final group fixture.

Carnaross provide the opposition in that fixture and with three of the four teams to advance from this group, all is still to play for heading in to the final round.
