Plan for 700 houses in Dunboyne lodged

A MAJOR planning application for more than 700 homes on a 41 acres site in Dunboyne has been lodged with Meath County Council.

Azra Property Company Limited is seeking a ten-year planning permission for a large-scale residential development on a 16.92 hectares site in the townlands of Castle Farm, Ruskin and Clonee, Dunboyne, Co Meath, which is located to the east of the railway line.

The proposed development is made up of a mixture of terraced, semi-detached and detached houses, duplexes and apartments. A total of 517 apartments are planned in eight buildings of four to seven storeys in height.

The apartments are made up of ten one-bedroom apartments, 202 two-bedroom apartments, and 24 three-bedroom apartments accommodated in four 4-6 storey apartment buildings; 55 one-bedroom apartments, 80 two-bedroom apartments and 12 three-bedroom apartments accommodated in two 6-7 storey apartment blocks; and 36 one-bedroom apartments, 78 two-bedroom apartments and 20 three-bedroom apartments accommodated in two 4-5 storey apartment blocks.

The scheme also includes 155 two-storey houses, made up of eight two bedroom homes, 69 three bedroom homes, 74 four bedroom homes and four five bedroom homes. It also includes public open space of 28,030 sq metres and 887 car-parking spaces.

As part of the application, alterations to two roundabouts on the R147 (old Navan-Dublin Road) in the townlands of Loughsallagh and Clonee are also proposed.

Meanwhile, two separate planning applications for a supermarket/commercial development and an office development on the opposite side of the town are currently at further information stage.

McGarrell Reilly Homes is seeking permission for a mixed-use development to include a supermarket and two commercial units and the replacement of the existing pace roundabout with a four-arm signalised junction at Bennetstown and Pace, Dunboyne.

A separate application by McGarrell Reilly Homes for three office buildings totally 13,729sqm ranging in height from three to four storeys at Bennetstown, Pace, is also being considered by Meath County Council.

Further information has been sought on both applications.
