Water breaks introduced for this weekend

Due to the extreme heat expected this weekend the North Eastern Counties Schoolboy/Girls League have taken the sensible decision to introduce water breaks during their coaching league games.

However, NECSL co-ordinator Jonathan Purvis insists that there is to be no coaching during the break.

"For all Coaching League Games this weekend, with the heat, all games will have a 30-60 second water break during each half of the game this weekend.. This is not for coaching or team talks it is purely a quick water break to ensure players stay hydrated.

"We have also asked all Referees doing competitive games to take a 30-second water break where needs be. Again this is solely for players to stay hydrated and not an opportunity to have a chat so please make them quick and efficient where asked to have one."

The NECSL should be applauded for this move and maybe other sporting organisations should follow suit.
