VIDEO: Car bursts into flames in Navan car park

A vehicle parked in the Abbey Road car park unexpectedly burst into flames last night.

The incident took place at roughly 10pm close to the houses situated along the back of the car park.

Images and videos were posted to social media with one viewer commenting: "Lucky the cars and houses next to it didn't go up in flames too."

Others in the comments were questioning whether the car was electric and if the incident had anything to do with that.

A woman in the comments stated that the car was not electric and that the driver had just turned on his car and heating when the car started filling with smoke:

"My friend lives on abbey road. The poor man turned on his car and heating and the car started filling with smoke. Not electric."
