Urgent repairs following water treatment plant breakdown set to be completed tonight
Update 4pm, 8 January 2020:
Irish Water and Meath County Council wish to advise customers in Trim town, Rathmolyon, Summerhill and surrounding areas, that crews are working to restore their water supply following a mechanical breakdown at Trim water treatment plant yesterday evening. It is expected that the repairs will be completed later tonight.
Customers will continue to experience disruption to their supply including low pressure and water outages as the urgent repairs are progressing. The following areas are impacted; Dunderry Road, Athboy Road, Bray Hill, Navan Gate, Saint Johns, Knightsbrook, Rock Road, Mornington, Manorlands, Longwood Road, Summerhill, Rathmolyon and surrounding areas in Trim.
Irish Water has made contact with vulnerable customers impacted by this water supply disruption. Irish Water and Meath County Council is delivering bottled water directly to nursing homes in the area.
Bottled water available this evening
In order to minimise the impact on customers, Irish Water and Meath County Council wish to advise that bottled water is available for collection at Meath County Council, Trim Municipal Offices, Mornington House, Summerhill Road, Trim, Co. Meath (C15 P2HE) from 6pm to 9pm this evening, Wednesday 8 January.
Restoration time
Following the completion of the repairs at the plant it may take a number of hours for normal water supply to resume for all customers. Irish Water and Meath County Council regrets the inconvenience caused by this water supply disruption and would like to reassure customers that we are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
