Hollywood legends coming to Meath for major movie shoot

SOME of Hollywood's biggest names including Ben Affleck, Adam Driver and Matt Damon may well be seen in the Boyne Valley in the next month or so.

Bective Bridge is set to be used in filming part of ‘The Last Duel,’ directed by Ridley Scott and based on the 2004 book by Eric Jager.
Filming is expected to take at Bective Bridge from 23rd to 30th March and the road will be closed during that period.
The film stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck. The script is by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Nicole Holofcener.  
Set in 14th century France, the movie is described as an epic tale of betrayal and justice.
It is about a woman who claims she’s been raped by her husband’s best friend, but when no one believes her accusation, her husband challenges his friend to a duel, the last legally sanctioned duel in the country’s history.

Jodi Comer, who recently won the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama for 'Killing Eve,' will play the female lead. Damon and Affleck will portray the dueling friends.
Meath County Council intends to close the L-4010 road at Bective “which  is required to facilitate the commissioning and decommissioning of a film production set at Bective Bridge.”
The closure will commence at 9.30am on Monday, 23rd March and continue to 9.30am on Monday 30th.
Local access will be facilitated throughout the closure and diversions will be in place. 
Eastbound traffic will be diverted on the  R161 southbound into Trim  and the R154 (Trim-Dublin Road) its junction with the L-2203 which will bring traffic to the east side of Bective Bridge.
Westbound  will be diverted to the Trim-Dublin Road to  the R161 which will bring traffic to the west side of Bective Bridge.
Bective Abbey was also used as a location during the shooting of the 1995 movie 'Braveheart', and in 1954, when Rock Hudson and Barbara Rush filmed 'Captain Lightfoot'.
